Nothing Phone Map not following car position

After update to Android 14, the map on the screen in the car is not centrering.
That means, you can not see your current position on the map, without manually zooming out on the screen.

You're saying it has been fixed. Proove it. Still play store version of your app is 4.7.9

We also just had a look at this again as we saw that other apps found a workaround and after a while we noticed, that we can workaround the OS bug. So there will be a fix soon with ABRP 4.7.10. Sorry for taking so long. Please let us know, if the next OS update breaks anything again, so we can verify the workaround again.

Just got a response from Nothingphone, that they are working on a solution to fix the Android Auto issues and it should be available with the next update of Nothingphone OS.

The map-Autozoom in the AA Screen defaults to a Position ca. 5km infront of current Position. Ergo: Position and Route are out of the Screen. Happens in follow, northed, and whole Route Display. Fixes tested (no change): restart phone; clear App Cache; delete all App Data; unistall and Reinstall App, change AA Screen dpi, select diff. Map Style.

Hi, we just checked this a bit more and could also find other apps, that behave weirdly, so it seems to be an issue on the Nothing Phone OS. We will report a bug to Nothing Phone and see what they respond. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do to workaround, so we hope that they respond quickly.

I have been able to reproduce this on a Nothing phone and Android Auto emulator. We will investigate further.

The same problem with nothing phone 1 after A14 update. Map is also not showing on the right side of screen but icons are still visible there. There is also no route visible on the AA map

Could you please check your ABRP permission settings if location permissions are allowed correctly? Maybe the permissions somehow changed with Android 14 and does not provide a location now, unless manually permitted.

I've checked my settings. Location permissions are allowed. I've also tried re-installing ABRP but it did not work.

Seems to be very specific to Nothingphone, as we do not have any issues with other Android 14 phones. We however have someone in the team with a Nothingphone and will try to reproduce it and see if we can provide a fix.

After last update, Car screen didnt center car icon. Map zoom little north. Follow movement but i cannot see car icon. Also live soc and estimate icons lost. But i can see live data on settings.

The app does not center the car correctly. Therefore the directions are wrong. This made the app unusable.
Also the SOC and other icons are invisible on the screen of my car.
The app follows movement, but the position is incorrect.

Also we had a similiar issue for Xiaomi phones before, when they updated to Android 12. Does this only happen, when the phone screen is off, or also when the phone screen is on, while bing connected to AA? So to rephrase... does it work when the phone screen is on so the app shows the companion screen with information about the car/trip?

The problem is also there when the phone screen is on the companion screen.
When I open ABRP fullscreen on Android Auto (so without a music player next to it), The screen is not filled completely.

That's unfortunately nothing we have control of. Android Auto from Google defines the size of the screen. If it also does not work while phone is on, it's a different issue compared to Xiaomi. Please provide additional information about the hardware, so we can check if we can find a phone to reproduce.

It's the same for me either, somehow phone GPS location and obd2 car location dissociate from each other.

When I unlock my phone while driving I see the car icon stays on one spot on the map, But I can see a dot appearing on my position. The dot keeps repositioning.
I will try to make a screenshot later.

I checked other map apps on Android Auto, but I can't see any problems. I think this is a specific issue to ABRP with Nothing Phone 1 after the last update of ABRP 4.7.3 and Nothing Phone 1 2.5.2. Currently app is useless for me.
