Half screen when using AA

Using ABRP on AA in my EV6 shows only half the map in both split and full screen. It used to work for previous version.

Hi Jouke,

there was another Nothingphone bug, we recently discovered:
abrp.upvoty.com/b/report-a-bug/map-not-centrering-on-car-screen/

There it was the other way around, so we added a workaround to make up for that. Maybe that breaks anything for you.

Could you please let us know the app version (including the number in brackets behind it) at the bottom of the settings oin the ABRP app? Also please check the version of the Nothingphone OS and please check if there is an update available, which might fix it on Nothingphone side.

You guys are quick :-)
- ABRP version: 4.7.11 (2696).
- Kernel version: 5.10.177-android12-9-00001-g1732ff65e639-ab11289816

- I'm searching for the nothingOS version, no update available.

NothingOS version: 2.5.5

Just a thought, wouldn't it be easier to just have a parameter that forces landscape or portrait when using AA ?

This is no portrait or landscape issue, it is clearly a bug on Nothingphone OS side. I'm afraid we can not always fix their bugs with every new OS update. Normally Android Auto reports the correct screen size to us and we just use it. This does not seem to be the case here.

Can I do anything to help ?

You can report a bug at Nothingphone.

J

Jouke Hijlkema

I did. They asked me to upgrade play store. I keep you posted.

So far nothing has changed.

Sorry, we cannot reproduce this with our own Nothingphone and you seem to be the only one affected... Could you please describe in as much details again, how you get into the situation and how you fix it? Changing the orientation of the phone actually really sounds like an issue with the Phone OS itself and i'm not really sure if we can do anything about this.

When I use ABRP with AA I have only half the screen. When I change the orientation of the phone to landscape, all is well. There is not much more to add. ABRP is the only app where this happens.

Ok, I'll also send a bug report to Nothingphone, nothing more we can do about it. The orientation of the phone should not have any effects on AA and we have heard of no other phone doing this.

Got a response from nothingphone:

3. Select “NOT REBOOT”
4. Turn off & on the Bluetooth once
5. Reproduce the issue (keep the log kit running in the background)
6. When the issue appears, please help save a screenshot (press the Volume- & Power buttons)
7. Dial *#*#569#*#* to go back to the log kit (or tap the one in the notification bar) and tap “Stop capture" and wait for “Log saved”
8. Tap “OK” when the log is generated
9. Turn back to the “Log tool” interface and tap the top right corner>>Log list>>long-press the log file we need>>copy>>ok

A work around is to manually set the screen orientation to landscape on my phone (nothing phone 2) and then minimize the app
