Android Auto is useless when ABRP is not active on the phone

This started very recently. Android Auto worked... acceptably... up until some point approximately last week. Currently, the vehicle's location will not update, the SoC will not update (linked to torque), routes cannot be planned, and navigation will not take place on AA if the phone's screen is not turned on and the ABRP app open. I've experienced this on my LG V60 and my friend's Samsung S21+.

This should work now for Samsung phones. If you still experience issues with 4.2.10+ please open a new issue as it is most likely something else.

Using ABRP premium and Android auto, the navigation on the car screen (and also the red arrow) stop when the phone screen is turned off. To resume navigation, the phone screen must be turned on again

This is a known issue and already fixed, we just release a new version 4.2.9 which is currently in review on google and should be available soon. As workaround you could leave the ABRP app active with screen on, then it should still work.

Installed the new version and if I want to calculate a route an unexpected error in Android auto occurred and aa restart. Downgraded to 4.2.0

Tried the workaround. Won't work. Try to grant background localisation via pm grant but won't work because abrp don't asked for it 😁

That is probably the same as abrp.upvoty.com/b/report-a-bug/map-doesnt-update-on-android-auto-when-phone-display-is-off/ then. Or you could try one of these solutions:

Especially the battery optimization could cause issues like that.

I activated AoD in Android and that's prevent to shut off the Display

The UI doesn't freeze up entirely, but it's functionally useless.
