The new vehicle SOC data integration is great, but it requires a BLE OBDII reader for direct in-app use. Please enable use of regular Bluetooth OBDII readers as well.
My Konwai KW902 ELM 327 Bluetooth dongle I formerly used with my Q210 Zoe, is not a BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) dongle, and therefore it is not supported by ABRP.
Hi. This feature seems to be get a lot of upvotes but i did not see a trace of it beeing planned for a future release. Should I consider replacing my obdlink LX or is it work in progress ?
Please support this quite expensive high-quality OBD-Bluetooth adapter which is very fast and considered be safe because pairing is only possible within a short time after pressing the button.
Just adding that I also would like support for ODBLink MX+! Started a premium account because I thought the new ODB features would work for me but I was unlucky, should have checked if my dongle was LE or not first. :)
I'll just start by apologizing. I am 59 years old and not that familiar with all the new techniques. I may not be in the right place now with my question/request. I agree with slaute.
I have the same equest: Is it possible for you to make ABRP suitable to communicate with the OBDII dongle OBDLink MX+? It has a physical pairing button for a more secure way to connect this dongle to my iPhone 11/ABRP/Hyundai IONIQ 5.
There is OBDLink MX + that is approved by IOS ( and true classic Bluetooth with regular firmware updates)...but mostly classic Bluetooth when become merged will be mostly for Android users.

Please add support for the OBDLink MX+ This is one of the premier OBD dongles.

Just wanted to support this request. Please add generic support for ELM327-compatible BT OBD2 dongles.

Just wanted to add my voice to supporting the OBDLink MX+. Security is essential.

Can you please add support for Konwei BT dongles that have been recommended for Renault Zoe. The UUID for these are 0x2902

Only BLE dongles can be supported by ABRP.

I'd love to be able to use my high performance OBDLink MX+ with ABRP.
Classic Bluetooth provides much better performance than BLE.
The MX+ is a classic Bluetooth dongle that works with iOS (certified MFi), as opposed to most classic Bluetooth dongles that only work on Android.
Jonathan Johnsson
Would be nice if it would work with my OBDLink MX+ (using and iPhone).
Andrew Van Til
Would love to see support for the MX+ on Android as well. Thanks.

It was expensive enough, is very fast and is considered to be secure because pairing only is possible within a few seconds after pressing the button.

Adding that I also would like this. I have one if information is needed.

Agree with slaute. But I would like to have support for OBDLink LX. It had a Button for parning, so it should be some what safe.
Samuel_ABRP
OBDLink LX does not work on iOS, or am I mistaken here?
Efraim Pettersson
You might be correct, but it is using classic bluetooth as well as MX+.
What I want is support for OBDLink LX.
Martin P
Try using a better OBD reader. That should support non ble devices.
Tom Greene
What is "a better OBD reader?"
The ABRP blog explicitly states that only BLE readers work - have you been able to get a non-BLE reader to work directly with ABRP? Which reader?
re: iternio.com/index.php/iternio-telemetry-api/abrp-obd-connection-for-live-vehicle-data/

ABetterObdReader is an Android app described here (German): www.goingelectric.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=67839&sid=76d94cf28d9c968d7fafc453045c0aa6
Installed on an (Android) phone, it can relay SoC information from the Bluetooth-OBD2 dongle to ABRP through their API.

Will there be integration with ABRP with Bluetooth classic dongle like OBDLink MX+ that are more secure and much faster than BLE dongles

OBDLink LX user here wondering the same thing.
Sam Bratt
That is also Bluetooth classic high speed and has security...so i assume if they implement it will work just fine.
Thomas Greene
PS This suggestion is intended for the Android version of ABRP

OK, but does that device or any other classic Bluetooth device work with ABRP now (at least on Android)?
Sam Bratt
Only BLE dongles work for now
