I used ABRP to plan an EV trip to France BUT I used Google maps for the navigation because I was able to download maps of the UK and France for cases where there are spotty mobile connections. I should be able to just use ABRP and have offline maps there

Hi there, is there a way or could you engineer a way to pre download the navigation maps? Given the very high price of data in Canada and the lack of coverage in many places this would be very advantageous to be able to use Wifi when available to download as much of the plans for navigation as possible.
Thanks
Chris

Could we add the ability to pre-download map tiles to device(s) either by manually by selecting an area on a map or associated with save routes. Ideally an option to save to SD card on Andriod devices also.

I travel a lot due to my job. I did 4 thousand kilometers in Turkey in 1 month. I passed through many places where the internet did not work. I had a lot of problems with navigation due to the constant need for internet. Offline / downloadable map use required
I expect you to improve it in a short time. Good luck, best regards

On my pocofone f1, the app doesn't load further than showing the logo unless I have a stable internet connection. I'd like to use the app without internet as well, especially when I already have a readily planned trip. This kind of caching(I assume) should also decrease load times for the app. Maybe there should be an indicator in the corner that makes it clear that the user is offline and can be tapped to force online data

We need offline maps please.

Offline map is essential for navigation apps IMO. Not everyone got a plan with lots of data on it.

apparently google maps in android automotive handles this by prefetching map data as you drive towards an area, especially if there's a route a head -it doesn't need to store the entire map of a country. it probably gets cause out by ferries and eurotunnel though

I agree - currently trialling ABRP premium and offline maps needed for todays trip in Ireland. Missed out over 20 miles of a 50 mile journey. Luckily I know the area well but I’m doing a massive tour of europe later this year and this may just have put me off subscribing.

Ist es möglich, wenn man den Empfangsbereich des eigenen Handy Provider verlässt, dass Offlinekarten verwendet werden?

I wonder why there are so few votes only.
IMHO, that's a big deal.

Agree. My screen going blank and loss of directions was ok as I knew the area I was in but abroad in unfamiliar settings it would be far from ideal. Really is a big deal if exploring unfamiliar areas.

Andy, have you tried ABRP map instead of standard? My experience is that standard map uses data (for maps), ABRP map does not.
Remy
Agreed, I had issue loading standard map tiles, but with the abpr setting it work like a charm
