It would be really useful if in Apple CarPlay more information from the OBD dongle could be displayed on the screen. Presently it shows the battery SoC% and arrival SoC. Would it be possible to display the battery temperature as well? Ultimately, it would be great if the user could define what is displayed there.from the available visible data which you can only see by opening the app on the phone.

We now have a companion mode, when connected to AA / CP, that shows some additional information, for example battery temperature as mentioned here. However we are not responsible for showing missing information from the cars infotainment system and it's not our main usecase anyways, so I think we will keep it at that level for now.

Thanks Samuel. I will check the companion mode on CP on my next journey. I appreciate that it is not the responsibility of ABRP to provide information missing from the infotainment system. ABRP has developed into the leading EV route planning tool, a really great product. Route planning and above all route execution, has many driving parameters (excuse the pun) which can be optimized. Knowing the battery temperature gives a level of predictability of DC charging speed which is really useful for route planning and execution. Enhancing, your already superb product, in this direction is a very welcome development and can only add to its desirability and success.

Especially in vehicles that do not have automatic battery preheating on the way to the next fast charging station, such as the Opel Ampera-e and the GM Bolt, it would be extremely useful to show the battery temperature on the CarPlay display.
In this way, the driver can decide for himself whether he should drive to the nearest charging station or whether he should drive to one of the more distant charging stations so that the battery continues to heat up by itself while driving, in order to achieve a higher charging current and thus a shorter charging stop.
The length of the charging stop will then also correspond more closely to the length of the duration calculated by ABRP with ideal temperature conditions.

Hi Samuel. Preferably the data should be available while driving as is the present situation for SoC and arrival SoC. Would it be possible for this info panel with the SoC to toggle between other data like battery temperature?

Not sure, in theory yes as they are custom overlays, so we can add whatever we want. However at least on Android Auto side the reviews are very strict and if non driving information is shown it is typically rejected.

CarPlay and Android Auto is typically very restrictive, so i doubt we can add more information and get this reviewed. Maybe we can add a separate screen only accessible while not driving. I think that could be allowed.

That would be great! If app reviews are very strict, perhaps add a mode on AA that is only accessible while the vehicle is stationary, that shows relevant battery information on the infotainment screen.
Ideally, we'd get battery temperature near the SOC, but if you cannot get that change through reviews, I can understand why you haven't added it (although MANY people wants it).
But, a screen available in AA/carplay that shows this information while stationary would also be awesome.
