Please make sure car is turned on while trying to connect. Also not all variants of the eGolf are supported. But i think this affects the 2018 and previous versions.

I have found that one must make sure that the Bluetooth link is connected. And once you run the ABRP connection, make sure to press the blue SAVE button.
