Not sure which region you live in, Keith, but for most regions OSM ist the most up-to-date map in the world, with much more current and accurate ways than Google Maps.

What exactly seems quite old? We use Openstreetmap. If there is anything missing you can add it yourself via the Openstreetmap editor and it will be pulled in automatically.
