With update 4.3.7 (2092) the current SOC is only visible when no navigation is activ (down right box: current SOC visible, destination SOC empty) - picture 1
Also the box is hidding when you scroll the map and takes some time to Show again.
When navigation is activ the down right box is missing, only destination SOC is shown in the down left box but not the current SOC - picture 2.

This is solved, we will push a fix soon which should hopefully be available soon, as it needs to pass the review process first.

Look for picture 2: there are no buttons (e.g. the 'search for chargers' button) - but the SOC box is missing while navigation is on - when you end navigation with the red X the SOC box appears again.
Tested it on a 30 min drive, SOC remains hidden.
when no navigation is activ the SOC box returns after the mentioned 8 seconds, when you scrolled before.

But on that exact picture there are buttons. Those are the buttons from android auto UI (top right) and as long as they are there, we won't show the SoC overlay. Those buttons normally should disappear after 8s and show speed limit on that exact location of the buttons and soc overlay on the lower right. Do these buttons stay on forever for you?
Samuel_ABRP
Those are the areas where buttons can come up and as long as they are there we don't show the overlays as you would not see much anyways. We can however check, if the buttons on the lower right are missing to at least show the soc overlay and only hide the speed limits. These buttons should go away if you don't click on the screen for 8s. And then the overlays should come back. If they don't come back after that we have to check again, if however the buttons stay active forever this should be something on google side.

here en edited photo:
lower right corner, the SOC box is permanent missing when navigation is activ - should be activ to see weather the connection between your car and ABRP is still activ or not.
Only destination SOC is half of the information needed for navigation.

But here I can see the SOC overlay, it is missing the arrival SOC though. But shows it is connected.

This photo is misleading, i guess you just pasted in the SOC overlay from free drive mode, would have been easier to understand if it wasn't there at all. I think I get the problem now. There is something you could try as a workaround. In settings of app if you scroll down to the end, there is a toggle for the bug report button. If you enable that a bug report button in AA it should appear too on the lower right. Could you please check if that is the case and if it helps to show the SOC overlay again?
Pascal Eisenbeiser
you can see it because i edited the photo (added the SOC box)
-> SOC box should be visible all the time, doesn't matter if navigation is activ or not.
-> destination SOC should be visible when navigation is activ
- the bug report button was activ when taking the screenshot

Ah so it doesn't show up in AA, will add a task for that too. I'll try to reproduce and provide a fix as soon as possible.

This is only the case as long as the buttons are visible. If you wait for 8s until the buttons are gone, the overlay will be back. There are also buttons on the lower right in some cases which would overlay the SOC overlay, so it is hidden until the buttons are back. Please try it and let us know if the SOC overlay is back once the buttons disappear.

Sadly not. Since the last update, it is exactly like Pascal said. No matter how long you wait, there is no coming back of this box. And while you could argue, that this box isn't super important - after all, your car shows your SOC, too - my troubles with getting a stable connection between abrp and my car make it vital for me, to check if abrp has a correct SOC to calculate with. And right now I can basically decide if I want to check connection or use navigation - which kinda defeats the purpose of a navigation app.
