HI .. lately I notice that whenever I connect the phone to Android Auto, the ABRP in the phone becomes unresponsive. It comes to a point that it can't maintain a good bluetooth connection with the OBD dongle. navigation still works great.

This has now been fixed - it should be enough for you to restart your app.

Will confirm..

Hi all,
i did some investigation and it seems to be related to using google maps as map provider in the ABRP app. If you go to Settings, Maps and then select ABRP map, you will not see the lagging of the app and everything should be pretty smooth.
We will look into this immediately, so in the meantime please use the ABRP map. With ABRP map you can also run ABRP + ABRP on AA simultaniously.
Arianto Nugroho
OK.. Will test this and confirm.

We will check. If the UI becomes unresponsive please only use one of both at the same time for now.
Arianto Nugroho
Oh.. I haven't tried having abrp running on Android auto but not on the phone.. Will the connection to the obd dongle stays?
Samuel_ABRP
As long as either ABRP or AA with ABRP is running the data will be polled.

Hi,
so this only happens, when you have screen active with ABRP app running simultaniously to ABRP on Android Auto? Or do you have other apps running on Android Auto and ABRP runs only on phone?
Arianto Nugroho
when ABRP is running on both phone and Android Auto .. yesterday I used ABRP only on the phone, with the phone still connected to Android Auto but running Youtube Music, it went smooth and I don't think the bluetooth connection break up ..

It occurs with and without AA, thus in stand alone and when connected to AA. I tester it. It now seems fine in stand alone and in AA after the fix.
Thanks!
The suggestion to not use the app on the phone when using AA is not possible because the app opens automatically on the phone when using ABRP on AA. Vice versa the AA ABRP session gets closed when closing the phone app.

If the phone screen is off, then the app will start on phone, but stay in background. Also if you turn off the phone screen the app will continue to run, as long as the AA instance is running. So no need to keep the screen active.
