Running under Android Auto: missing interface

I am running ABRP premium under android auto on my google pixel 6 phone and using my Kia EV6 automobile. Android Auto and Google Maps are working fine, but when I run ABRP I get a map view screen but it is missing an input interface. Picture attached.

Hi, the buttons come up when you click on the screen.

If the buttons don't do anything then you can try the workaround as described here:
abrp.upvoty.com/b/report-a-bug/bug-or-feature-android-auto/

You can also do planning in the app and the route will automatically come up on Android Auto, but if you want to plan from AA without getting the phone out, you should try the workaround. We are working on a fix.

I tried enabling the "Display over other apps" setting, it had no effect. As a workaround, If I manually open ABRP on the phone while Android Auto is also running ABRP, then it appears I can start an ABRP trip, BUT: What I really want is while running android auto, the ability to share an ABRP trip with google maps, and use google maps under android auto as my navigation app.

You have to share it to google maps from your phone app and then just start google maps on android auto. AA is pretty restricted from google side, so we don't offer all the features we have in the app.

The pixel 6 should definitely work with that workaround, as we tested the same phone. Maybe you have to restart the app so it gets affective. Please try it again the next time you are in the car.

I did some testing on my Pixel 6 without Android Auto active at all. I am finding that the ABRP share function (Open in google maps) is not loading its route into Google Maps for many of the attempts. Out of many attempts, only a few result in Google Maps actually loading the route that was defined in ABRP. For most of the attempts Google Maps opens with no route loaded. This is true even when I reboot the phone prior to the attempt, or if I close all open apps prior to the attempt. I have no idea what is different between the attempts that succeed and those that fail.

Please open a seperate issue for that then. It is easier to keep an overview of the issues, if they are not containing multiple issues.

So can you please try again, if AA works as expected now with that workaround?

If I am able to successfully share the ABRP route to google maps on the pixel 6 (with Android Auto not active), when I then open Android Auto the google maps app seems to still have the route loaded correctly.

The problem with share to google maps in ABRP is happening so often it is making it very difficult to test. I will open a separate issue for that.
