OBD won't connect to the car

During setup of OBD Link CX the first two steps are ok but connection to car shows error message.

Please make sure the obdlink is on latest firmware. also make sure no other app connects to the dongle, this includes the obdlink app too. Also make sure the car is turned on. If this still does not work send the debug data at the end of the setup process and let us know.

I had the same problem. I fixed this by:
1. installing the OBDLink app
2. connected the OBD Link CX to my iphone in the OBDLink app
3. started abetterrouteplanner again, connected to the OBD and it finishes step 3! and it is connected and works.
