Hi, I have been in contact with Samuel about this before. Car is MG5LR I can use ABRP and live date through torquepro and a Bluetooth obd but would really like it to be better through the direct connection. I did have a cheap ble dongle that you don't list. It didn't.work, so fi ally spent a bit more and got the Vgate icar Pro BLE 4.0 which your blog says has been tested and works. It does exactly the same as the cheap one. See photo this is as far as it gets.
Is it the car, is it ABRP, is it my phone xiomi mi10pro?
Or is it because ABRP is not recognising the android interface. Reason I say this is because if connect to it through torquepro I can see iPhone and Android versions of the adaptor.

I updated the pid list for MG5 recently (it's still not perfect but data is incoming at least). Soplease try again (maybe also with latest beta).

Unsure if you've checked but today it's started working for me after not working at all, I'm using the NexPeak NX101 Pro, with a Pixel 6. MG5 LR

Hi,
I saw on logs from other mg5LR users, that the EV specific commands do not return any value. Which OBD commands do you use with torque pro? Maybe we can use the same then.
alan Stone
They are the ones I already sent you in a previous thread

Pids here, both for MK1 zs and mg5.

But those are the ones we use as well. And there is not really a big difference between MG ZS EV and MG5, except that the csv for the MG ZS EV provides a header value and the MG5 not. My assumption here was that they use the same PIDs, which at least seems to work for odometer and speed.
Maybe it's not related to the PIDs but another error in setup we recently saw.
Send me a mail to samuel@iternio.com with your google account mail, then i'll add you to the internal test app. We improved OBD quite a bit there, then we can check if it works better, or if it is really something with the OBD commands.

Hi Samuel, MG5LR now seems to be working on the plasma ember version. SOC is 3% too low at top end and seems to about 2 or 3% too high at the bottom. I can live with that but I think it's the pids working off the actual size of the battery's not useable.
Before I delete torque pro, is this working on the normal version?
Samuel_ABRP
Yes it works on every version now. In the MG5 feature request I also got some feedback on soc numbers, so we can make up for that. If you provide some more specific values like ABRP vs car reported soc like this:
80 - 83
70 - 72
60 - 62
50 - 51
40 - 40
30 - 29
And so on, we can make a better equation and get closer to the real value. Maybe later on we will also find the PID for display soc, but right now we do not have it.
