Hi Eddy,

Have you checked the following?
www.iternio.com/faq?questionId=3145f052-d64a-459a-b335-8b30b85dbb5f&appDefId=14c92d28-031e-7910-c9a8-a670011e062d

What's the make and model of the OBD device you're using?

Strange thing is that when I started up my old Samsung Galaxy s10 plus installed abrp on it and the phone connected to abrp without any trouble. But then afterwards on my new Samsung Galaxy s23 ultra it failed again 😢 so it seems abrp has a problem with that phone ?

Hi Eddy,

I don't think we have any issues with your new phone, but perhaps the dongle has, or the setup process was done differently.

This device isn't among our suggested ones so we're not super familiar with it. However, it appears to be using a BLE connection for iOS devices and a regular BT connection for Android - if set up the regular way.

Their instructions for Android says to pair it with the Android device prior to using any app - but this then seems to set up a regular BT connection and ABRP only uses a BLE connection.

I would suggest to:

1. Reset the connection in ABRP (disconnect & set up again); www.iternio.com/faq?questionId=eb5eb053-594a-40db-8ca1-2e98f829bece&appDefId=14c92d28-031e-7910-c9a8-a670011e062d

2. If only doing a reset doesn't do the trick, Veepeak themselves suggest the following for connection issues on Android in their manual:

"3. Could not pair with Android.
- Turn off Bluetooth and turn it back on (sometimes a few times)
- Restart your phone
- Disconnect any other Bluetooth device from your phone
- Clear Bluetooth cache/storage: Settings > Apps (show system) > Bluetooth > Storage & Cache, clear and restart the phone"

I think what might've happened is the dongle has been paired for regular Bluetooth when you got your new phone. If that's the case, removing/forgetting the connection (in your device settings) and then connecting via ABRP (no prior pairing) should likely do the trick.

Let me know how it goes!

Hi Katja,
I turned off the phone and restarted. I tried to clear bt cache and storage but in the phone those are not highlighted and so unable to clear those. So then I did a reset of all phone connections and restarted the phone again.
Then afterwards I tried in the ANRP app to make the bt connection prior to pairing without succes.
Paring veepeak obd2 to bluetooth works perfect but still impossibe to establish a bt connection. So then using my wife's I phone installed ABRP on it and everything works fine with ABRP and the bt connection to the veepeak obd2 bluetooth dongle. Very strange 🤔 anyway thanks for your help and advice. Seems there is something wrong with the s23 phones and hopefully in the future Samsung will find an update patch to solve the bt connection issue. For now I will be using my wife's I phone to travel with our Kia EV6 using ABRP.

Hi Eddy,

Ahh, I'm sorry to hear it's still not working with your new phone.

As a last attempt, if you haven't yet I would suggest reaching out to Veepeak themselves to see if they've heard of issues with your phone model. www.veepeak.com/support

(And there are other cheap ble dongles on the market).
