I purchased the premium so I can get live data with chargers to see available chargers but it hasn't worked since I've purchased premium. I feel like I might have just wasted money but want to see if maybe it's a glitch that can be fixed.

Normally you should see the live status of a charging station by tapping on it, if you have a premium account and if the charging station is able to send a live status.
To see the live status of charging stations on the map, have you already enabled „Maps -> Detailed chargers“?
Then the charging station appears in different colors (red, green, gray) depending on its state.

Correct, displaying coloured charger pins to reflect status is optional and enabled this way.
But we'll always display occupied/unoccupied (red/green) status in the details page for the charger (or in the plan details) for supported networks, instead of the otherwise only 'operational' (blue) status.
