When I search a longer route using Android auto, the app offers me "better alternatives" every 2 minutes or so. Even when explicitly I choose the second best alternative, in 2 minutes time it offers me better alternative and does not stay with the option it offered. It would be nice if there was a longer timeout between choice of a route and a search for faster alternative route. Only occurs using Android auto, on phone when I search alternatives and choose second or third option, it stays with it and does not bug me with faster route in a few minutes.

thank you.

This will be fixed in one of the upcoming releases. The amount of notifications for new routes will be reduced a lot (especially when you just started). However there is a limitation of what we can do, if you intentionally select one of the slower routes, to avoid proposing better alternatives (because any alternative we'll get is better than the slowest route). So if you want to use one of the slower routes on purpose (for example because you like a specific charger or road), i would rather propose to use a guide point on a specific road, or to prefer the network for the specific charger, or to add the charger you want as waypoint, to stay on that specific route. Or you could reduce the driving speed in settings, then you should get slower routes anyways.
Karel Schmidt
It happens every time I put in destination, that is far enough, that at least one charging stop is required AND at the same time I choose the second or third best route from the alternatives. Then It keeps reminding me, that a faster route is availiable even before I start driving or only after only 200meters, sometimes the pop up comes rigth away, sometimes it apears in 4 minutes. And then it offers the exactly same options as the first time, when I was choosing them, so nothing has changed, no new option occurs, no faster routes then the previously shown faster routes, I have decided not to choose. So in my eyes it negates the possibility of voluntary choosing a slower route.
It does not pop up, when I stay with the best option only when I choose the other options. And I repeat, it does not offer different options, they are all the time the same options. I would understand that if calculations continue and an option is found different from the original ones, as you described, but that is not the case.

Thanks we will also check that.

Btw with my current fix that popup should only come once now, it will come initially, as it recalculates the route when you start driving, but after that it should be silent for a while until it finds something better again. You can just ignore it and it should not switch the route.
Karel Schmidt
The main reason why I post this and why it is annoying, is because you cannot just ignore it in Android Auto, like you can while using the app on the screen of your phone. A slim line on the bottom of the pop up in Android Auto will run and after a little while, it will automatically switch to the best option. Nor can you easilly dismiss it, you have to tap on "Preview" and the choose again the one option you want.
Samuel_ABRP
The blue line is just a timeout. It will not switch automatically to another route. If it does it is a different issue and not related to that dialog. The Dialog will just ignore the proposal if nothing is clicked. We will check, if there is another issue with automatically switching the route.

Thanks for providing the additional information. I'm currently working on improving the situation with alternatives after starting the route. It might not make it into the very next version, but one of the upcoming versions will definitely improve it for Android Auto.

Hi Karel,
i just investigated this and could indeed find a situation, where our logic to not show alternative route updates did not work. In the case I found, there was a route with a charger, and it was actually faster to omit the charger, for example if the SoC was higher than initially expected. So it could be skipped to safely reach the destination. In that case the notification should only be shown once every 15mins, but was indeed shown very often. Is this the situation you were in?
If not could you please describe with as many details in which situation the notification was repeatedly shown? So i can make sure there is no other case, which also does not properly work.
Best
Samuel
