Hi. Since version 4.2.8 of the Android app ABRP isn't able to get GPS coordinates. I've checked permissions and they are granted for everything requested.
The app is installed in the infotainment of a BYD Tang (Android 10 based, API 29) - where Google play services / framework isn't available (probably due to licensing). ABRP is sideloaded.
Reverting to 4.2.7 fixes the issue - so the 4.2.8 release and onward changed something in how ABRP access the GPS location.

Yes, that is fixed in 4.2.9 already.
So does the BYD Tang officially allow access to the infotainment? For the Ioniq we had an app, that could get the consumption data from the car and send it to ABRP for better consumption accuracy. Maybe something like that is possible for this car too?

Wonderful! I'll check that right away.
Well there is an API, and consumption is available through settings in the infotainment so I highly suspect so. I have some API specifications (original and translated to English), uploaded it to my server here: eth0.sh/upload/byd/ . I think chapter 6.2 should be of interest
Please let me know if this is something you can make use of, and if you need testing :-)

This looks like exactly what we had for the Ioniq, so maybe we can even just convert that app for BYD Tang. Could you please open a feature request and provide the information with that link and where to get the library needed to develop that app. Thanks!
