Got ABRP Connected To OBDLink CX but ABRP Always Uses 90% As Starting SOC

if I don’t use real conditions, I can set my starting state of charge to 50%. But if I pick real conditions, real weather, real traffic, etc., ABRP insist on setting my starting state of charge setting to 90%. ABRP doesn’t read the state of charge from my OBDLink CX device, which is 50% state of charge.

Also, even if I set my destination state of charge to very low, unless I uncheck use of all chargers, I can’t get ABRP to plan a trip without inserting a charger stop. This goes against what I want to do, which is to see what will happen to my destination state of charge if I don’t stop to charge anywhere.

I sent you a support e-mail via the Contact Support button in the iOS ABRP app about a "subscription issue" to confirm that I am a Premium Subscriber. Due to an idiosyncrasy of your app or the iPhone, the e-mail is sent from my cloud MS Active Exchange server account, since I've told the iPhone that's my preferred e-mail handler. It fields e-mails for my MSN account and an .onmicrosoft.com account (an MS365 account, the one which the support e-mail will be from).

Hi Jim,

I'm not sure how your email client works but with the regular mail app in iOS it is possible to change the sender address to your preferred one as long as it has been added among email accounts.

In any case, what email address you send the message from does not matter. We'll get your user id among the automatically generated data in the message anyhow as long as the email is generated by selecting the contact support option in the app.

I've looked at your saved vehicle but it still does not appear to be linked successfully. Did the 'save' button not work for you?

Relative to not being able to find my account, Katya, there doesn't appear to be any way to securely send you that information. Trying to reply to the e-mail support notice you sent me gets me a e-mail addressed is no-reply or doesn't exist type response. Basically, I bought my ABRP Premium subscription in the Apple Store with a .mac.com account needed for my Apple ID. But I use an MSN address for my ABRP subscription because I'm a Windows computer user, not a Mac user. But then, since UpVoty, doesn't allow me to use my ABRP account username/pwd, I just signed in with my Google account. If you have a secure, non-public way of receiving my MSN e-mail address, I can provide that to you. If you can search your ABRP subscriber database on e-mail domains, user names, and purchase date (12/20/23 at 10:13 PM CST USA), you should be able to find me. My subscription renews on the same date in 2024. Thanks for your help.

Hi Jim,

The automated email notifications from Upvoty are no-reply yes.

Separately to the public support forum Upvoty where information about issues can be pieced together by multiple users, we also offer support via email for our Premium subscribers and issues related to billing, login etc.

So, if you among our support options at the bottom of the settings menu, choose 'contact support' you'll be directed to send an email to our support which automatically includes some basic details about your account, app, device etc.

Apple does not provide us developers with tools to manage App Store subscriptions so I'm not able to search for the purchase based on your Apple ID email address.

I found an answer to my CX connectivity problem and posted it in an old thread where another CX user was having a similar problem with a BMW. Basically, the answer for me was after making the OBDLink CX BT LE connection, I wasn't hitting the SAVE button as recommended. When I finally did that during some retry, the Live Date interface came up but it wasn't connected for data from the vehicle. Instead of seeing UNLINK in the connection box for vehicle-generated data, I saw LINK. As soon as I tapped LINK, ABRP was off and running with live data from the vehicle and then the actual %SOC from the vehicle was used in the routing. ABRP instructions/hints in the apps could be clearer about pointing out the importance of what's on the screen I'm describing. I attached an image of the screen to my latest post in the following thread: abrp.upvoty.com/b/report-a-bug/depart-battery-level-systematically-at-90-despite-obd-dongle/

Hi Jim,

Yes, the last step is to tap the 'save' button. Rest assured we are reworking the UI one part at a time and live data connections is next on our list :)

Hi Jim,

I wasn't able to find your account so I cannot check the status directly. However it does not sound like you've linked your vehicle successfully.

Assuming you're using the 'automatic settings' toggle, this toggle will enable all live functions - including live SoC.
(It is possible to enable live traffic, live weather etc. one by one, but this is quicker).

If we are getting live SoC we should switch to the live value when toggling on 'automatic settings'. However if no live SoC is available I can see that we are switching to the default 90%. So there are likely two issues;

1. You're most likely not successfully linked

2. For vehicles without a live SoC value, 'automatic settings' toggles to 90% SoC

Please review the linking process and try again. For instructions on how to reset a connection please see; www.iternio.com/faq?questionId=eb5eb053-594a-40db-8ca1-2e98f829bece&appDefId=14c92d28-031e-7910-c9a8-a670011e062d

For instructions on how to remedy issues with the CX please see; www.iternio.com/faq?questionId=184bd54c-56cf-4c04-866d-9fcefba7b70f&appDefId=14c92d28-031e-7910-c9a8-a670011e062d

We'll look into the issues regarding point 2 as well.
