Freezing map screen

Since a few days, the mapscreen in the car freezes. I cannot unfreeze it by deleting the route and trying again.
Also, not all of the map is shown, areas are left blank.
The same happens on my PC , areas of the map are left blank here too....
ABRP is now worthless....

Hello. I think i have a similar problem.
Phone: Samsung Galaxy Xcover Pro Android 12
Behavior: Connect Phone with Android Auto, ABRP opens on Phone and Android Auto, Location Arrow works as expected. BUT if the Phones screen locks, Location Arrow is frozen and Navigation is also not working. If i unlock the phone screen, location arrow jumps to actual position and is working again till phone locks screen again.
I´ve heard this issue is known for Xiaomi devices but it is also present on my Samsung device.
For reference i tried with another Phone : Pixel 4 Android 12 and it works as expected when the screen locks.
Hope this helps and there is a solution.

Hi Michael,
the Xiaomi issue is that the map does not update, however the ABRP service itself keeps running. So if you are currently navigating with an active route, you should see that the distance and instructions still change, as soon as you lock the phone. However the map and the shown route is frozen. Could you please verify, that the distance of the blue instruction field is still updating? In that case it would be the same issue.

When i want to navigate with an active route, i have to start the app on the phone manualy to get it work.
When navigation is in process the phone does not lock it self. If i lock the phone manualy,
the blue instruction field is NOT updating. The Android Auto Screen is Frozen including The SOC Display (reading from OBD2). When i unlock the phone, the navigation-Map-SOC is again updating.
Seems like a different problem as on Xiaomi devices?

Hi, please provide more information about what freezes in the car. Do you use android auto or CarPlay or maybe even automotive?

I am using Android Auto in the car. Only after a few miles the map stops moving, the cursor (my own position) also stops moving. There is nothing I can do to get it working again.
Next trip, after a long stop, it works for a short period of time, then same thing happens.

Which phone do you have? Do you use the phone app in parallel or AA only?

I have a Samsung S21 5G.
The ABRP phone app automatically starts as soon as I start the vehicle (BMW i3 with MMI4 retrofit with Android Auto)
However, as soon as the phone screen locks, the app on AA stops working. Screen freezes and arrow does not move anymore.

as Michael above mentioned, we have a similiar issue for Xiaomi devices. Could you please check my comment above i replied to Michael, and verify if it is the same behaviour as on the Xiaomi devices?
