I have a Carista OBDII Bluetooth adapter. And the app fails to connect to the car. The code above was copied by the app when I tapped the report a bug button. I have an eGolf. I can't seem to edit my post above to add this detail.

Do you know if the Carista dongle works with other apps than their own app?
(I can't seem to find any information about this on their website)

Hi Katya,
Yes, it works with other apps but I only read about ABRP not supporting Bluetooth dongles but only BLE after I posted the bug. I suspect that's the reason it's not working?

Hi Robert,
Correct, if the dongle does not support a BLE connection that would be the cause the linking process is not complete.
