I don’t seem to be able to manually adjust the zoom on screen in the car. It is also “random” such that some junctions cannot be seen as the zoom is quite far out and shows the whole route only.
Not sure if it works too well with my phone always in landscape mode on the purpose built holder in my vehicle.

Oki can share the same issue. No zoom available on CarPlay or in the iPhone. The landscape mode does not display the car position correctly un the vertical middle. You can see my screenshot (portrait ok, landscape, bug).

You’re right. It’s not possible to adjust the zoom level permanently at the moment.
You only can zoom in or out for some seconds.
