Merged with: ABRP sets maximum speed to 209 km/h

F

F.S.

Hi, ABRP always sets maximum speed to 209 km/h when I open the webpage again for a new route planning. It forgets my setting of 130 km/h.
This behaviour came a few days ago. Never had this problems in the past.
Best regards, Fabian

I have been having the same problem for over a month usiing ABRP New on my desktop and my A8. Not Intutive to use. My wife finds it very frustrating compared to the easy to use and intutitivly understand Classic.

B

Bert N.

On App V 4.1.15(764) on iOS, the max speed setting is lost and reset to 185 km/h every time the app is started.

Avatar

Hugh S Gregory

been having same problem myself for over a month.

B

Bert N.

In addition: die route calculation seems to be based on max speed, whereever there is no speed limit (on German Autobahn), resulting in a high estimated consumption and a high number of stops until max speed is reduced manually to a reasonable value.

The individual settings of "Referenzverbrauch", "Maximalgeschwindigkeit" und "Temperatur" are not saved. Eachbtime I open settings, the values are reset to unrealistic default values.

After I chose my route, I always have to go into the settings and configure the reference consumption at 65 mph, and the max speed. Oddly, the battery degradation seems to stick.

Z

Zach

Vehicle set as 2021 Mach e er awd. When I initially pick the car, reference consumption number is at a reasonable 2.98. After calculating a trip however it resets itself to an unrealistic 4.61. This isn’t just a glitch of displaying the number wrong. Recalculating the same trip afterwards reflects the increased range from inflated reference consumption number.

Could it become possible to adjust the reference consumption? When I adjust it it will not save in the settings. Thank you.

I have a Hyundai Ioniq 5, and an account in ABRP. In the app I configure my car and the reference consumption is set to 217 Wh/km when I add the car. But next time I launch the app the consumption is set to a wrong, and too low, value. Mostly 140 or 170 Wh/km.
Thus, if I don’t remember to check this in the app EVERY TIME I want to calculate a route, I will get wrong estimates.

The app is the latest iOS verion running on iOS 15.2.1.

Avatar

Dokter Roetker

I have an IONIQ 5, and when driving in Gemany the app has ridiculous estimated times of arrival, based on max speed of 209kmh. I changed it to max 130kmh, but every time it goes back to 209. How can I keep it at 130?

M

Matthew Nord

The reference consumption for the above vehicle is 3.05mi/kWh, I adjust this to 3.20 to give a more accurate result. However, the App then bugs and changes the value to 4.94 when I run a calculation, it also appears to reset the top speed but changes no other setting I have configured! This only seems to have started since I started the premium trial

Avatar

Samuel_ABRP

Most likely related to one if the issues reported related to not saving settings correctly. We are on it.

R

Roger Törnström

Not much happening here. In its current state this app is useless, or very untrustable, as you cannot trust the calculations it makes.

Avatar

I have found this for past two months, ABRP is no longer accurate like Classic was before they switched to the new format. Reviews on Google Play store indicate very many ppl no longer happy, with what you used to be best and most accurate EV route planner in the world.
Solution, Dump the APp and stick with ABRP Classic, it works wonderfully, or it used to.

Hi, do you use latest app version 4.1.15?

Avatar

Jesus Ruiperez

Yes. 4.1.15 version
It seems that this issue afects to some "app general state". After sending my comment I have seen that some user has reported that "erratic changing values". You can easily reproduce it sending app to background and then return it to foreground.
Anyway, ABRP is a very nice and usefull app.

Avatar

Samuel_ABRP

Ok thanks. So when you plan before leaving the app the settings are stored?

Avatar

Jesus Ruiperez

No. At first I thought that but I have verified that the values change regardless of whether the calculate route button has been pressed before sending app to background.

As soon as I connect to LeafSpy, the maximum speed is filled with unrealistic values (between 170 and 9000 (yes, 4 digits) km/h)

I have the same problem Maximum Speed does not get saved between sessions (it's always 14? or 16? km/h - if only the car could go that fast !). browser version 4.1.15 (not app, although it seems to also do the same with the Android App)

I have the same issue, Reference Consumption is always 117 when I start using ABRP even though I set it to 180 previously. Also the same for Maximum Speed, it does not get saved between sessions (it's always 14? or 16? km/h - if only the car could go that fast !)

A

I have the same issue, very shortly after changing the max speed to 130 it automatically changes back to 210 km/h. I'm using the most recent android version 4.1.15 and this is happening both in the app and on the website. I'm using an OBD dongle so I'm not sure iff it's related to that. Car: Opel Corsa-e

Same here. Some technical Infos that might help during investigation:

OS: MacOS Monterey 12.1
Preset Car: Skoda Enyaq 80 iV: Heatpump (alpha)
---
Browser: Safari 15.2
Wh/km: change from default (210) to 230
km/h Limit: set to 140

(re)calculate Route --> OK
closing tab w/ ABRP, reopen ABRP (important step to reproduce)
Values got odd: Wh/km = 149, km/h limit = 225
---
Now switching to Google Chrome (98.0.4758.80):
odd values are still listed
change them back to my values (230/140)
(re)calculate route --> OK
closing tab w/ ABRP, reopening ABRP
Values got odd: Wh/km = 149, km/h limit = 225
---
I can reproduce it on iOS-APP.
iOS: 15.3
App: 4.1.14

Open App, change Values to 230/140
(re)calculate Route --> OK
Close App by Swipe Up
Re-Open App
Values got odd: Wh/km = 149, km/h limit = 225
---
Well, those odd values lead to "interesting" routings ;-)
Thanks for this tool, it's great. Let me know if I can assist with testing, etc.

Same issue here with the latest iOS version 4.1.14. Speed changes back to 217kmh if i switch apps even for a second. And consumption switches to 12kwh/100kmh. Tesla MY Long Range 2021

BTW your ref consumption is also a bit high. Does it work to toggle the button on top to use live data and ref consumption from live data?

Avatar

Dokter Roetker

As for consumption, i toggled it and it's a lot better now, 4,72km/kWh

Avatar

Samuel_ABRP

Which version do you use? Please try latest 4.1.15, we had a bug where the settings were not saved correctly, which should be resolve in latest version.

Avatar

Dokter Roetker

I tried the Beta (4.1.15) but after changing to 130kmh and then leaving the app, it's again 209kmh. When routing through Germany it somehow expects me to drive that speed and make an excessive amount of stops...

Avatar

Samuel_ABRP

Please provide more information:
- iOS or android or web?
- is that a saved car or from quick selection?
- what exactly did you do to get into that issue (describe with as much detail what do you, for example if you manually set values or if you use default value or whatever)

Add as much info as possible please.

Z

Zach

iOS. First on a quick selection but then I tried saving the car and found the problem persisted as well. Used default settings for consumption. May have adjusted some road conditions or other options (not sure if it had been that way when the bug was first noticed but it’s something I often do so it’s possible) but didn’t manually adjust consumption. Only noticed it when I tried recalculating a trip to see what a round trip would look like and noticed that the remaining charge at the end of the one way trip seemed way too optimistic suddenly. When I went in to options to see if anything changed there I noticed the reference consumption changed. Didn’t remember what the original number was so I manually picked my car again seeing if it would reset and it did. And the first recalculation after that reset was accurate. But any time I did a second recalculation, the reference consumption would again change. Always to that 4.61.

Ok thanks, so do you use latest 4.1.14? Which mail is associated to your abrp account? You can also send me the mail to samuel@iternio.com if you don't want to publish it here.

Z

Zach

Yup 4.1.14. I’m signed in using my Apple ID and it’s automatically hiding my email. Not sure exactly how that works on the back end. I can see part of what the email is under my account but it eventually gets cut off at the end and I can’t see how it ends. I’d be willing to email what I can see if that will help though

Avatar

Samuel_ABRP

In that case please use support & feedback from settings and then contact support and reference this issue in the mail that is generated. We will get your user ID like that.

When I open the app or leave the app and open it back up it forgets the correct mi/kWh. I have an MG5EV standard range which has a mi/kWh of 3.17. But it keeps resetting to 4.9. I cannot see why.

Avatar

Manuel_ABRP

Hello Stefan, thanks for reporting that issue. Indeed we had some settings that did not get saved properly. But at least I could not find any issue with "Maximum Speed" and "Temperature". Could you explain a little bit more what you did exactly? Did you encounter these issues in the app (iOS or Android?) or on web?

S

Stefan Croner

Hello, indeed I encountered that with both, web and android app. And it was with Maximum Speed, Reference Consumption and Temperature. Reproducible.

Avatar

Manuel_ABRP

Ok, I just gave it another try with the released versions and these work fine here. Except for "Reference consumption" but I fixed that yesterday. We will release that in the next few days probably.
How did you check if the values did get saved correctly? Settings are loaded on start of the app/load of the website. So if you have the app and website opened up already and change eg. something in the app the website needs to be reloaded so you can see the updated settings. Same if you do it the other way around, the app needs to be restarted then so it will load the updated settings.
Also make sure you are running the latest app version since we had a few changes there in the last few weeks.

S

Stefan Croner

E.g. in the Android app, I opened settings, calculated my route, opened settings again to do further adaptions - then sporadically original values for the 3 mentioned settings are restored.
I will give it a try with the latest and the soon coming version and further observe.

Hello Stefan, I encountered a similar behaviour with some settings. I found out, that some settings a stored within a saved route as well. So if you change them to your values and than restore a saved route from the past, you will get the values from the past. I don't know which settings are saved to the route and which not, unfortunately.
