So recently I arrived at a charger with ABRP reporting 9% reported SoC meanwhile the charger (Ionity) and car reported 6%. Is this a feature or a bug?
I'm guessing ABRP is reading the actual SoC from the BMS which includes the inaccessible buffer at the bottom of the pack?
As long as my car doesn't die at 3% SoC as indicated by ABRP then I'm fine with the different reading.

Hi Luka,
You guessed right.
There is the net (usable) SOC and the gross SOC (incl. buffer).
The net SOC is always displayed in the cockpit.
Depending on the car model, ABRP uses either the net or the gross SOC.
It seems that the eGolf reports the gross SOC over OBD to ABRP.

Ah glad to know I was correct. I just read somewhere that the car won't die once it reaches 0 net soc so I guess that's fine.
It might be a good idea to do some research on how different cars handle this sort of thing. I think there's a couple of them out there that will just die even if the gross soc is not zero which might end with people getting stranded if they plan on arriving with 1 or 2% remaining soc.
