I just received the same Dongle and tried it with Kia e-Niro. Seems to work also, but would be nice to have the possibility to chose my own car, KIA e-Soul (64 kW).
I do hope this will be possible?
I took the time to test it on several, relatively small trips.
It seems to work well.
To be seen in time, in the duration. With big trips.
It would be nice to have the E-Soul in the choices, rather than having to take the Kona.
Anyway, thanks for the work done.
Hi, please don't use the profile for driving, it will impact the Kona consumption profile. This is really only meant for testing if it works on the E-Soul, so we can enable it there as well.
Hi, i'm waiting for a "Vgate vLinker MC+ obd2" from Amazon.fr. I have the same car. As soon as possible, I will check with the Kona choice. I'll be back to say you the result.
OK, thanks.
I did try the same dongle, but it only works every third times and I have to unplug/plug in.
Seems this dongle isn't stable.
(I'm running g iOS).
It uses the same pid values as Kona i guess, if you want to try it we can add it. Do you have a dongle for testing that works?
Just select Kona and see if you can establish a connection and see values. If Kona does not work please try the 28kWh Ioniq as that uses a slightly different older OBD protocol.
i just checked your log and it does not even get as far as to request data as it already fails at the initialization. This should be independent from the car so i guess there is something wrong with the setup of the dongle.
Maybe try it again, make sure your car is started. Remove the pairing from android settings and when trying to connect choose the BLE connection from ABRP (not via android settings) which often has "iOS" in it's name for multiple dongles.
Thanks for your reply.
I'm running iPhone with iOS (not Android) and CarPlay.
I try another time today, after you respons here:
I drive KIA e-Soul (2020) but use profil in ABRP for Kona 2019 (as suggested by ABRP).
I turn off CarPlay and try your app via my iPhone. It does find my dongle but doesn't succeed made final connection - please screendump her.
I tried several times. No luck.
After this I disconnect the dongle (no power) and replug I again.
And this time I can fully connect to the app on my iPhone and get livedate etc. After this I connect to CarPlay, also her theres is connecting.
Seems the dongle need to initialize every time and get af fresh bluetooth address?
Not convenient (and not your problem ;-).
I think I read smother in your forum, that iOS running in background can bee a problem?
I dont know if you can help further...?
I "just" need a reliable dongle, compatible with:
1. ABRP
2. Kia e-Soul
3. iOS
"The Vgate vLinker MC+ (yes Plus needed) has a physical pairing button and may be safe to leaved plugged in. It does change its address every time you unplug it, so you will have to re-link (and re-pair) it again then."
That's the information we have on our site. So once a connection is established, never unplug it again and it should work on next app start - as long as it wakes up, which i'm not really sure it does...
Yeah there seem to be other users that are connected already. Which e-Soul do you have? Maybe if it's an older version it uses different PIDs? It's the same for Ioniq 28kWh and 38kWh. The 38kWh is like Kona/eNiro but the 28kWh has a slightly different PID list.
My car is KIA e-Soul 64 kWh 2020 (without UVO connection).
It would be fantastic if any KIA e-Soul owner can confirm a dongle working.
I can't find any reading ABRP forum....
I think Philout40 got it to work. But please wait for the next app update as well. We fixed some things related to BT connection. Might improve the situation for you. If you are on android, i could add you to the list of testers and you can test an early version of it.

Kia Soul should be live now, so please do not use the Kona workaround anymore.
Ole
Super! I will try this.
Ole
I will do.
Ole
P. S. Also for use in iOS ( I don't use Android)?
Samuel_ABRP
Yeah available for everyone. However it wasn't deployed correctly. Should be available now.
Philout40
Oh !!! It's fine now !! Thanks a lot for your reactivity and your availability. I will test more during the next week.
Ole
OK I gave up, and returned the dongle.
Are there ANY OBD dongle working with KIA e-Soul and ios?
Ole

Okay. I just used it for 100 kilometers or so. You can enable OBD for the E-soul 64 kWh in android. Thank you very much.
Samuel_ABRP
Should be available now. Please try it.
Ole
OK. Thanks.
Philout40
Thanks !!!

When i choose "Kia Soul EV e-Soul 64 kWh", there is not the choice "ABRP OBD Connection" like when i choose "Hyundai Kona" ...
There is a problem.

Good morning! when is the OBD connection with the Kia e-Soul EV? Have a good day

Merged with: OBD connection Kia e soul EV

Hi Philout40. Thanks, waiting... ;-)
Ole
I have ordered the same Vgate vLinker MC+ and are waiting for it showing up.
Ole
Hi again
Does it work?
It does not work for meee...😖
Ole
Hi Philout40
Did you get it to work?
I have same car, but can not find a working dongle (use iOS).
Best regards, Ole
Philout40
It works fine for me. I use Vgate vLinker MC+ and Android 12 on version beta of ABRP. My car is an Kia E-soul 2020 64 kWh.
Ole
OK, thanks.

Thanks. I will try this then my Vgate vLinker MC+ is getting here...

Hi Samuel
I got the dongle now. I can not get it working...I did try with KONA and e-Niro. But there is no connection from ABRP and the dongle.
Is there a fix?
Samuel_ABRP

If that does not work follow the steps from here with the nRF app and open a new issue:

Check the information in this thread:
forum.abetterrouteplanner.com/topic/3643-obd-dongel-enyaq-iv-with-abrp-4110-not-found/
It contains a discussion about multiple dongles and which ones work reliably. Maybe it helps in finding a better one.
Ole
OK
I'm nearly giving up, I tried this and iCar Pro BLE without luck.
Hi guys
I can not find any dongle working with KIA e-Soul AND ABRP. Does anyone have luck with this?
